Chairman, Brevia Transport
Rob Flello is the Chairman of Brevia Transport and a member of the Brevia Consulting Advisory Board. He was previously the Labour MP for Stoke-on-Trent South for twelve years (May 2005 – June 2017).
Rob has significant experience dealing with transport policy issues, having served on the Transport Select Committee between July 2015 and May 2017, and chairing the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Freight Transport. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. Additionally, as a Fellow of the Industry and Parliament Trust, Rob gained experience with several multinational businesses including DHL and Tesco.
Rob has served as a Shadow Minister and held roles in Government. Between 2010 and 2013, Rob was Shadow Justice Minister covering civil law, victims of crime, and youth justice. During the last Labour government, he was the Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Secretary of State for Defence. He also served as PPS to the Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government, Cabinet Office and PPS to the Lord Chancellor.
In addition to his transport expertise, Rob served as the Parliamentary delegate to the Financial Reporting Advisory Board and was a member of the House of Commons Finance and Services Commission.
Before becoming an MP, Rob was a councillor on Birmingham City Council and a member of the Economic Development Board. He was a co-founder and director of Platts Flello Limited, which provided taxation and financial planning services.
Rob read Chemistry at the University of Wales. He joined Price Waterhouse in 1989 and then Arthur Anderson in 1995, before co-founding Platts Flello in 1999.
