Angela Love

Member, Brevia Energy Advisory Board

Angela Love is member of the Brevia Energy Advisory Board.  Angela has worked in the energy sector for over 30 years holding senior roles at ScottishPower, the Energy Networks Association (ENA) and Elexon.

During her career, Angela has represented FTSE100 companies with key stakeholders in 10 Downing Street, UK Government, Regulators, UK Parliament, European Commission and European Parliament, often covering complex and technical energy policy issues.

Angela started her career at ScottishPower where she spent 15 years working mainly in its Retail business before moving to cover strategy for the Retail, Generation, Trading and Renewables businesses. Angela then established her own consultancy company that provided energy and water clients with public and regulatory affairs, strategy and communications, and stakeholder engagement services.

In 2009, Angela was appointed Director of Gas, Communications and European Affairs at the ENA where she set up and managed the new function for gas distribution members, attracting new member companies from the UK and Ireland. Her role brought together members to establish new services sharing best practice in innovation, operation and health and safety, whilst lobbying on their behalf with Regulators (Ofgem/HSE), Government, MPs, Peers, the European Commission and consumer interest groups.  Angela was also responsible for the European function for gas and electricity Transmission and Distribution for members in the UK, Eire and Channel Islands.

Angela went on to join Elexon in 2018, the electricity market central body responsible for the Balancing and Settlement Code, where she was Director of Future Markets and Engagement and set up the Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement central programme and directed it for 18 months.

Angela has been a member of the Ofgem Stakeholder Engagement and Vulnerable Customer Panel since 2017 and is the Independent Chair of the SP Energy Networks Net Zero Advisory Council. Angela also serves as the Smart Energy Code (SEC) Panel Board Chair.
